If you follow us on Facebook, Twitter or the Forums, then you already know that Transmissions from Zone 4 has parted ways with TMV Cafe effective today. There will be no Transmissions episode tonight, and frankly, there wasn’t going to be anyway as we were pulled from the schedule without notice.
When things were somewhat iffy with Zone 4, the opportunity arose to join TMV Cafe in a new block of programming given to our Executive Producer Tommy Hancock. When things evened out for the main show, we took that opportunity to do a brand new, second show in which we’d basically review or give in-depth thoughts on the worlds of literature, comics, film and television. We had some bumps along the way, and it took us a few episodes to really get in a groove and iron out the wrinkles. But we did, and we were all proud of the show we put together each week.
Now I said on Facebook I wasn’t going to go into detail about what happened, and I’m going to largely stick to that. However, given a recent email I received, and to give our fans a reason, I feel I need to expound just a little, albeit vaguely.
Suffice it to say that when certain issues keep arising repeatedly and aren’t addressed or resolved, but instead ignored, dismissed and blatantly denied, then it’s time to make a change. That change came for us today. After four weeks straight of these issues with no communication about them at all, we discussed amongst ourselves and opted to pull the show.
We have absolutely no ill will toward TMV Cafe, and we do wish them success with their other programming, which includes shows by friends of ours. Perhaps those other shows and their hosts were treated a bit more fairly for whatever reason, I don’t know. Regardless, our time with TMV was fun, but certainly not without its frustrations.
As for the future of Transmissions, it’s yet to be decided. There are talks going on about what to do with it a little ways down the road, but right now we are taking a break from it and concentrating our efforts on the main show, the webcomic and finally getting the New 52 series wrapped up.
We do have one unaired, complete episode that was supposed to run this week on TMV originally. We may release that episode through our regular feed. That way those of you who are fans will get one more episode, and those of you who hadn’t tried Transmissions due to the lack of archive or download can test it out and see if you like it.
We will of course give updates on Transmissions’ future here and our various social media sites.
Thank you for all your support during the short tenure of this show, we hope we entertained you.
